The OUTBOUND Heavy Duty Flag Of Finland is a large-format Finnish national flag featuring the distinctive blue Nordic cross on a white background. Measuring 150 cm x 90 cm, it provides a clear and recognisable display of the Finnish national colours for cultural events, sporting occasions, educational displays, heritage collections and other settings where a Finnish flag is required.
The Finnish flag has its origins in the development of Finnish national identity during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Finland declared independence from Russia in December 1917, and the current blue-and-white national flag was formally established by law on 29 May 1918. The colours have traditionally been associated with Finland's natural landscape, with blue representing its lakes and white representing winter snow.
The design is a blue Scandinavian-style cross on a white field. Finnish legislation defines the national flag as rectangular, with specified proportions for the cross and surrounding white fields. The national flag should also be distinguished from Finland's state flag, which incorporates the Finnish coat of arms within the centre of the cross. This OUTBOUND flag represents the plain national design.
