LC-2 History
The LC-2 belt forms part of the U.S. military's long-running family of individual load-carrying equipment. The wider ALICE (All-Purpose Lightweight Individual Carrying Equipment) system was adopted by the U.S. Army in 1973 to replace the earlier M-1956 and M-1967 load-carrying equipment systems. Components of the system were progressively revised, with LC-2 identifying later-generation equipment.

The quick-release version of the LC-2 individual equipment belt was introduced in 1981 and assigned NSN 8465-01-120-0674 for the Medium size and 8465-01-120-0675 for Large.
