Italy in the 1930’s was in the midst of  Mussolini’s fascist regime, which constricted import and export. These Moka pots were originally made from locally sourced bauxite ore, a key ingredient in Aluminium and when Mussolini’s regime collapsed the Moka pot reached international success.
